Dr. Dmitry Nepomnayshy is Professor of Surgery at the University of Massachusetts
Chan Medical School, Lahey Clinic, Burlington MA. He is the Director of Simulation
and Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Surgery. His clinical specialty
includes bariatric and minimally invasive surgery and his research interests focus
on surgical education, emphasizing teaching and assessment of surgical skill.
Dr. Nepomnayshy is actively involved in surgical societies including leadership roles
as past President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American College of Surgeons,
President of the Boston Surgical Society and Governor representing Massachusetts
to the American College of Surgeons where he is the chair of the Surgical Care
Delivery Workgroup. He also serves as the chair of the development committee for
the Association of Surgical Education, chair of faculty development committee for
the ACS Accredited Institutes Consortium, and co-chair of the FLS committee for
SAGES.
Dr. Nepomnayshy obtained his medical degree at the Ohio State University College
of Medicine, and completed his surgical training at Lahey Clinic. He also completed
a Master’s of Science at McGill University with an emphasis on surgical education.
